Welcome back to another segment of Being Mary Jane Tuesdays!!! To be completely honest, it is very hard getting access to actual clips of this show. However, the trailers give enough content that is blog worthy!!! Season 2 of Being Mary Jane is a GREAT season! It tackled so many issues that affect families and deal with the topics of LIVING IN YOUR TRUTH, to DEALING WITH MATTERS OF THE HEART, the process of IVF, suicide, watching the love of your life have a child with another woman, substance abuse, child neglect, hardships at work, and so much more!!!
The first issue that I would like to blog about is the COMPLICATED relationship between Mary Jane and the love of her life named David. It seemed like they just could never get it right....or that timing was not on their side. David and Mary Jane had dated for a few years and their relationship unfortunately ended. Mary Jane and David would make efforts to rekindle their romance....but never would arrive at this notion at the same time! David ended up dating another woman seriously and Mary Jane finds out during this season that he is having a baby. I could only imagine how DIFFICULT it is to witness the love of your life having a child with another woman!!! Mary Jane spends a lot of this season trying to really figure out what went AWRY in their relationship.....as well as having to accept the reality of the situation.
The second issue that I will tackle is when her best friend Lisa said "How come you get everything in life that you want and I get nothing"? I have shared on a few occasions on this website that there are times that I feel like some of the people closest to me struggle with being happy for my "wins" in life because they are not truly where they want to be. I LOVE that this series tackles this very thing! Mary Jane's best friend, Lisa often feels that she never "WINS" the way that Mary Jane does. She too was in love with David.....the only thing is that David was in love with Mary Jane and vice versa. There are times in life where most of us will experience this type of JEALOUSY at the hands of our CLOSET FRIENDS!!! It can be a very DIFFICULT thing to go through and make sense of! What I have learned in my own journey of life experiences is that those who are DESIGNED to be in our lives will have the where with all to deal with such feelings so that they can continue to RIDE OUT with us and celebrate our "WINS"!!! I believe that this same should apply to US! We too should be able to celebrate our FRIENDS and LOVED ONES' WINS just the same....even when life is THROWING US LEMONS!
What are your thoughts? Have you tuned in to ALL seasons of Being Mary Jane?
