I ABSOLUTELY tuned into this biopic this past Saturday and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it! I like how the movie was made and am happy that Michel'le finally got to SPEAK HER TRUTH! Now I also THOROUGHLY enjoyed the movie Straight Out of Compton! However, I always sensed that there were holes to some of the story! Now at the end of the day, none of us are ALL SEEING and know ALL OF WHAT HAPPENED within these relationships. But, I am glad that another version/perspective of the story was told!
As a woman, during certain parts of the movie I was like GIRL YOU BETTER FIGHT BACK and YOU BETTER LEAVE HIM!! However, I am aware that there are many deeper reasons as to why some of us find ourselves in domestic violence situations. I found it very SADDENING to see that the women in Michel'le's life kept sending the message to her that men beat women at times and that it is just something that she would have to TOLERATE! I know that there are many young girls who heard this same message ALL OF THEIR LIVES and as a result have TOLERATED SUCH TREATMENT. As I always say, ABUSE IS NOT LOVE and LOVE IS NOT ABUSIVE!!!! I could only imagine what it must have been like to be beaten by both Dre and Suge! That is just INSANE TO ME!!
You never know the lives and HELL that some people live through! Ladies WE HAVE TO WANT MORE FOR OURSELVES AND OUR DAUGHTERS!!! I do not want to give away too much of the movie....for those who have not yet seen it!
You gotta check it out!!
Did you see this biopic? If so, what are your thoughts?
So I am sure that you know by now that I lOVE tuning into the girl chat segment on the daytime talk show The Real!!!! I LOVE that they tackle REAL LIFE ISSUES and bring AWARENESS to subjects such as BODY SHAMING! I think that we are TOO comfortable weighing in on other peoples lives, struggles, challenges, etc! I do not think that it is RIGHT to body shame ANYONE! We have to accept that we all come in DIFFERENT SHAPES and SIZES!
I remember being made fun of growing up because I was always very TALL! I would be called DOOFY by the boys in my class often. I am so thankful that I never let it make me feel UBER SELF CONSCIOUS however, I would be lying if I did not admit that those comments would make me feel not as "pretty" as some of the other girls. I learned in junior high school that my height was actually a COOL attribute and that it did not stop guys from liking me or wanting to date me. As I got even older I really began APPRECIATING my height as it made me feel even more feminine, graceful, and balanced out my weight nicely!!
I hope that this clip encourages us all to appreciate our beauty and not let what others think of us DICTATE HOW WE FEEL ABOUT OURSELVES!! Most people who body shame others are OFTEN INSECURE WITH THEIR OWN BODIES/BEINGS!!!
Love who you are.....flaws and all!!!!
So as I was getting ready for work the other day, I learned about the ALLEGED feud that Toya Wright and Tamar Braxton are currently going through with one another. They have been friends for years....to the point where Tamar Braxton defended Toya Wright and took on her BEEF with R&B singer K Michelle a few years ago. Toya Wright recently wrote a book entitled In My Own Words....My Real Reality; where she stated that she and Tamar are no longer friends due to her appearing as a guest on the day time talk show called The Real. We are all aware that Tamar is no longer a host on this talk show and that it did not seem to be an ALLEGED mutual split. Toya further states in her book that when Tamar was working on the show The Real, that she was never able to be a guest which she found to be a bit suspect. Tamar responded to this via an instagram post stating that she never kicks people out of her life but that they ended up walking themselves out of her life (I am paraphrasing). It is always UNFORTUNATE when a friendship BITES THE DUST.....especially with us women.
This whole story got me to thinking.....why is it that it is so easy for us WOMEN to subliminally throw darts and messages out there to one another as opposed to us having the UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATION and address whatever our concerns are with one another? Things might have been worked out already if these ladies said hey FRIEND, are you upset with me? Did I do something to offend you? Things seem to be strange and tense between us. Perhaps Toya should have forewarned Tamar that she was going to discuss her in the book!! Maybe Tamar should have expressed her concerns with Toya being a guest on The Real!! I think that this approach might have worked out more favorably for the both of them as opposed to airing their feelings out in books and social media.
What are your thoughts?
Happy Sex and the City Thursday!!! This clip is a little STEAMY and very ROMANTIC! It is not for the FAINT OF HEART lol! I decided to blog about this clip because a lot of times we may find ourselves in relationships that are FORBIDDEN....meaning they may not have proven to be in our best interest. To the point where our friends voice their concerns regarding us being involved in such a relationship. Carrie ALWAYS followed her heart when it came to Mr. Big....even if their relationship was more detrimental to her well being than not! I definitely get it...I have always believed that I have to follow my heart and go with my gut instincts! Carrie and Mr. Big have had one heck of a ROLLER COASTER RIDE when it came to their relationship throughout the series. YOU CAN'T HELP WHO YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH! However, what I will say is that you have to guard your heart enough to where you know your value and be strong enough to CHUCK UP THE DEUCES when you start to find that you are not being treated well, protected, loved, valued, cherished, and so on!!!
What are your thoughts? Have you ever experienced FORBIDDEN LOVE? Did it all work out in the end?
It saddened me to find out today that Thomas Mikal Ford from the ICONIC TV show Martin passed away at the age of 52! He reportedly had been hospitalized over the weekend due to having a aneurysm that ruptured in his abdomen. He was then put on life support until his family made the DIFFICULT decision to take him off of the life support. He reportedly was surrounded by his family until he passed away. I would like to send out CONDOLENCES to his family and friends as it is NEVER EASY to mourn the passing of a LOVED ONE.
Thomas Mikal Ford will always be remembered for his amazing work playing the role of Tommy on Martin!!! He also played on one season of New York Undercover in the late 90's and starred in the following movies: Eddie Murphy's movie "Harlem Nights", a Brad Pitt track drama "Across the Tracks", and "For the Love of Money".

So yesterday (10/10/16) was my husband and my 2nd WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!! We thank THE ALMIGHTY for carrying us through!! I am so THANKFUL and BLESSED to be married to an AMAZING, COMMITTED, and LOVING man!!! I truly hope that ALL WHO SEEK AND WISH TO BE MARRIED are able to experience this DOPE BOND/ UNION!! Marriage is actually a GIFT from GOD that is POWERFUL!! I encourage you not to give up on LOVE!! I really do believe that there is someone for everyone and that God has that RIGHT FIT for each of us!
Try to be patient and wise when in the DATING WORLD! So many people portray themselves to be someone who they are NOT!! Please do not be DESPERATE to the point where you marry THE WRONG SUITOR!! It is so not worth living a life of MISERY and TURMOIL just to be able to say that you are "married'! WAIT on the Lord!!!!
Happy Sunday!!!! Check out my thoughts on how it is ok to want MORE for yourself!!!

Happy Sex and The City Thursday!!! In this clip, Carrie finds out that her lover who she is falling MADLY IN LOVE WITH does not see marriage in his future. This of course CONCERNS her because most of us WOMEN eventually want to get married! Even though she was not trying to rush to the alter, it still STINGS a bit when the option is taken from you!
I think that it is important for us women to KNOW if marriage is a future goal for us this way, we do not SETTLE and WASTE TIME dealing with men who are not about that MARRIED LIFE!! I recognize that it is VERY EASY to get CAUGHT UP and end up staying in a relationship/situation that is designed to go NOW WHERE. However, ladies we have to KNOW OUR WORTH and be willing to stand up for what we BELIEVE IN....even when it comes to marriage! Let's not WASTE our precious time dealing with guys who would never get on one knee and ASK FOR OUR HAND IN MARRIAGE! There actually are guys who WANT and DESIRE to be married! Time is on NO ONE'S SIDE!
What are your thoughts? Could you date someone who did not see marriage in their foreseeable future?
I think that this clip from The Real sparks a GREAT CONVERSATION! There are some celebrities who happily go MAKEUP FREE (i.e. Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others) even when the public can spot them! I think that balancing BOTH looks is BOMB. I agree with Tamera's point.... that the purpose of makeup is to ENHANCE your beauty not to CREATE IT! I feel comfortable wearing makeup and being bare faced! Now, I will say that filling in my eyebrows is a MUST even when I am not wearing makeup! That is where I draw the line lol!!!!
I think that it is very IMPORTANT for us to EMBRACE our inner and physical beauty! I also agree that these days some of us women are going WAY OVERBOARD with the makeup techniques that make us look like IMPOSTERS! As I have said before, I truly believe and have learned that LESS IS SO MUCH MORE!!!
What are your thoughts? Do you go makeup free or must you leave the house with your face BEAT TO CAPACITY?
Check out this cool clip of me answering some questions where I determine what I would RATHER do!!
What would be your answers to these questions? Feel free to comment!! Do not leave your girl hanging lol!!!!
