So the hubby took me out on a FUN date night to Muse Paint Bar at the Ridge Hill Mall in Yonkers, NY this past Saturday night (10/29/16)!! We had arrived a little late but were able to catch up to the rest of the class lol! We really had a good time painting and it was SUCH AN OUT THE BOX date night for us! It was so cool to see my husband GETTING INTO the painting exercise! I had taken a painting class in college years ago and enjoyed the NOSTALGIA of it all! Painting is actually quite THERAPEUTIC and ENJOYABLE! They had appetizers and a selection of wine that you could purchase if you so chose! The class was full with people of all ages which was pretty cool! The instructor and staff were SO ACCOMMODATING and HELPFUL throughout the class! Being how we arrived a little late, one of the staff worked with us to bring us UP TO SPEED with the rest of the class! The third picture on the easel was the one that the instructor did. I think that our paintings turned out PRETTY GOOD!! We decided to display them in our den!! I think that it is so DOPE when you have a story behind the paintings on your walls!!!
For all of my married folks/and those in relationships out there.....I have learned the IMPORTANCE of having date nights with your spouse/significant other as it is a GREAT way to BOND and RECONNECT! Sometimes we do not realize how our jobs and the chaos of life can get in between that MUCH NEEDED bonding time! Now do not get me wrong, I recognize that date nights do not always have to require us spending money and being out of the house. There are times where we will cook dinner together, sit and eat with one another, and then watch a movie on Netflix!! However you are able to get that QUALITY TIME in.... is what is IMPORTANT!!
Good job to you babe for having us go to Muse Paint Bar! I think that everyone should experience this at least ONCE!!!
Have you ever been to a paint bar? If so what was your experience like? What are your thoughts on date nights with the spouse/significant other?
Welcome back to another segment of Sex and the City Thursdays!! Today's clip shows the differences between MEN and WOMEN when it comes to saying these three words.....I LOVE YOU!!! Carrie bit the bullet and TOLD Big that she loved him as she could not hold it in any longer. On the other hand, Big SHOWED Carrie that he loved her by his actions. He took her to the ballet (that he hates to go to), brought her a purse (even though he was a bit off with understanding her style lol), and then he FINALLY just verbally told her.....which is what she really NEEDED TO HEAR.
This clip is a good reminder that men and women have different LOVE LANGUAGES at times and express innermost feelings for one another in different ways. As a woman, I know that we can get ANTSY and AHEAD OF OURSELVES when we feel like our guy is not giving us what we want, how we want it, and when we want it! But, sometimes I think that we need to SLOW OUR ROLL and give our men time to express their love for us!
Now I do not agree with Carrie hanging out with another guy to the point where he was in her bed that night/morning. But I guess everyone handles their ailing hearts in DIFFERENT ways lol!
What are your thoughts? Is it easy for you to say "I Love You"? Are you impatient when it comes to your significant other saying those same three words?
I SOOOOO want to try this!! I have done some slight research on it for the past few years. As you know, I have SERIOUS BROW PROBLEMS!! This procedure is considered to be PERMANENT MAKEUP. I will continue to do my research to determine if it would be in my best interest lol! I get tired of having to CREATE brows daily! I have experienced the pain of a tattoo and should be able to handle this lol! I LOVE the finishing results! I love how her brows came out looking VERY NATURAL!!
For my ladies out there with brow problems.....would you consider getting this procedure done?
I have learned over the years that ANOTHER WAY TO A MAN'S HEART aside from cooking, bomb loving, and loyalty is also sharing their interest in sports....or at least being willing to learn!! My husband is a sports FANATIC and it was very beneficial that I grew up with a father and brother who were also sports FANATICS lol! I had a pretty good understanding of the game of basketball! In being with my husband over the last 10 years I learned about baseball and football. I watch a lot of basketball games with him in the house which is ACTUALLY QUITE FUN AND ENJOYABLE!
Ladies, I think that it is important for us to MAKE EFFORTS to tap into our man's world which include their interests. I do not think that it is right for us to only want our guys to embrace our interests and we not embrace theirs! If you happen to be dating a guy who is into sports.....my suggestion is that you start watching some of the games and trying to learn/understand the sport. This way, he will feel that you can connect with his interests as well. It will gain you some COOL POINTS when he sees that you actually took out the time to learn the sport. Or you can be open to him teaching you about basketball, football, baseball, hockey, boxing, and the list goes on!
I would ask my husband so many questions about football and baseball as those were two sports that I was not as familiar with. He was PATIENT with me in explaining the rules and jargon of these sports!
To my single ladies, this could also help you in the casual dating world! A lot of men who love sports are ATTRACTED to women EVEN MORE when they find out that you are down to kick it with them while watching the game!
Sidebar, as I am writing this blog my husband and I are watching the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks battle it out lol! I really LOVE watching the games with my husband!! It's another way to BOND!
Would you be willing to learn more about sports if you are not familiar? What is your perspective?
Hello everyone!!! I just wanted to take the time out to say THANK YOU for the love and for supporting this website! As I always say, this website is a LABOR OF LOVE! Your POSITIVE ENERGY helps to keep me motivated in coming up with REAL, THOUGHT PROVOKING, COMICAL, FUN, and HONEST material!!!
My hope is that this website has been encouraging and empowering to you!!!
So yesterday the hubby and I went to see Love Jones The Musical at Newark Symphony Hall for a DATE NIGHT!! As you know I LIVE for date nights for more reasons than one!!!! Anyone who REALLY KNOWS ME....knows that Love Jones is one of my FAVORITE MOVIES EVER!!!!! I was so PUMPED to watch one of my favorite movies being broken down into a musical! Now this cast was definitely STAR STUDDED! Musiq Soul Child, Chrisette Michele, Marsha Ambrosius, Dave Hollister, Raheem Devaughn, MC Lyte, and Tony Grant were the known cast members! Chrisette Michele and Tony Grant played Nina and Darius who were the two main characters in the original movie.
Now I must say that I was somewhat DISAPPOINTED that the story line was changed a bit. I also did not feel the TRUE VIBE AND ESSENCE of the original version! In my eyes, Love Jones is a SEXY, REAL, and INTENSE story that leaves you feeling a WIDE RANGE OF EMOTIONS when you watch it! I unfortunately, did not feel these emotions when watching the musical! The cast did a PHENOMENAL job of singing and the MUSICAL COMPONENT was on point! However, I did not fully enjoy how this musical was staged and re-written. I guess some classics should be LEFT ALONE!
Overall my husband and I did not LOVE the musical but enjoyed seeing the artists in their TRUEST FORMS....which was singing on that stage! Every last one of them SANG THEIR FACES OFF!!!!
Sidebar, I left my phone in the car and was unable to take pictures/record the stars as they were performing and acting (insert sad face)!!!
Have you seen this musical? If so what are your thoughts?
Welcome back to another segment of Sex and The City Thursdays!!! Where you will be hit with thought provoking topics!! I LOVE this clip because it really depicts what a lot of us WOMEN have experienced! I remember trying to dissect and understand the mixed messages that I was getting from guys that I either liked or dated!! When it all boiled down to the simple fact that HE JUST WAS NOT THAT INTO ME.....AT THE TIME LOL! What ends happening is that when I run into guys who I used to like or date they end of REGRETTING the fact that they did not LOCK ME DOWN lol! But anyway back to the clip....I love how Carrie's boyfriend Burger was HONEST with Miranda by revealing to her that when a man is really INTO you he will do EVERYTHING in his POWER to DATE YOU! Ladies, let this be a moment of ENLIGHTENMENT to us!! If a man wants to PURSUE YOU he WILL!! He will not give you every excuse in the book as to why he cannot date you/get to know you further!
I always say that this is how you know when you meet "the one" because he will do EVERYTHING HE CAN to date YOU!! Don't lose hope!!!!
All of my male family members (including my husband) have confirmed this thought!
Have you experienced the same run around that Miranda faced in this clip? What are your thoughts?
This thought really RESONATED with me because I am a firm believer that the choices we make in life can dramatically affect our lives in positive or negative ways!! As I read this thought, I saw the glass as being HALF FULL and immediately thought of the AMAZING things that can happen to us when making a WISE decision! It could be the difference in getting out of poverty, leaving an unhealthy relationship, chasing that dream that you have always had, finding love/love finding you, getting professional help to assist you with addressing SERIOUS issues in your life, and the list goes on! I try my BEST to make wise choices and decisions in my life because I am aware that one wrong choice can lead to a HARDER LIFE that can be full of PAIN, Struggle, and MISERY! I also view the word DIFFERENT as a POSITIVE thing! Different does not always have to equate to something bad folks!
What are your thoughts and perspective? How do you view this idea?
