Hey everyone!! Check out my review of the Real Housewives Of NY Reunion Part 1!!!!!
Did you watch it? If so what are your thoughts?
This show is EVERYTHING!! I have watched the series OVER AND OVER again for years!! It never gets OLD!! check this clip out of the main character, Carrie going through it with her love. I KNOW that a lot of us LADIES can relate!! Oh the EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER some of us go through in our relationships!!!! But if you have some loyal and SANE friends to help get you through and give you a HEALTHY PERSPECTIVE you will come out on the other side!!
When is enough....enough???? I believe that only we have the answer to this question!! We just have to SEARCH deep within for it!!!
Sidebar, there are too many women who STILL have never watched this series!! You better get hip!!!
I even had my husband into watching this series at one point!!!
Hey everyone!! Check out this clip on my thoughts about the recent VMA's as well as some partial scoop on what is to come with the website!!!!!!!!
I am a fan of this restaurant!!! The food and drinks are AWESOME and it just has a good vibes!!! The hubby and I went to Houlihan's for a date night yesterday evening and had a great time!! We had calamari as a starter and I had chicken tenders and french fries as my entree. My husband had a crab cake melt sandwich with sweet potato french fries!! We both THOROUGHLY enjoyed our meals. I had a twisted tea to wash it all down and my husband had IPA beers!! We had GREAT CONVERSATION and LAUGHS which is what we are all about!! You have to check out this restaurant if you have not experienced it!!
Date night is essential to reconnect and keep the SPICE going in your marriage/relationship! I lIVE for date nights with my husband!!
Have you ever been to Houlihan's? If so what was your experience like?
I have LOVED this movie from the first time that I saw it 10 years ago!!!!!!! I am sure you know that I LOVE Beyonce by now!! But aside from that, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this movie that was directed by Robert Townsend!! Mos Def and Mekhi Phifer also starred in this Hip Hopera (I am also fans of their work)!!! This was Beyonce's first acting debut and I actually thought that she did a decent job!! She is just one of those women whose FEMININE WILES transcend in everything that she does!!
Sidebar, ladies have you ever been out with your man and another woman BOLDLY came on to him? How would you handle this type of a situation? I don't even know how I would handle things lol!!! Especially if we were at a bar where there was alcohol flowing......it could be a DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN lol!!!!!!!!
Enjoy this flashback.....after all today is Friday!!!!!!!!
Have you ever been in a situation where you notice that your friend, colleague, family member, or acquaintance is competing with you even though you never got the memo that there was a full on competition in place? I have experienced this quite a few times in my life! There were even times when I engaged in the competition as well! What I have learned is that it is too EXHAUSTING to compete with others!! I have said in a previous audio recording that I prefer to compete with MYSELF!! I love this quote because if we do not engage or feed into the competitive nature of the other party there essentially is no competition! Now do not get me wrong, I recognize that there are times in life where having a competitive nature may be necessary. Some examples of this may be when it comes to landing the job, training as an athlete, the process to getting into college, competing on "The Voice", etc. I guess I am more so referring to competitive natures when it comes to how we interact and relate with one another in relationships and friendships. I think that it all boils down to the state of our self esteem. I strongly believe that when we are truly happy with ourselves we will be able to congratulate the next person on their successes and wins in life! As I always say, we all have our own blessings with our names carved on them!! What is meant for you is designed for only you! No need to compete for the love, attention, affection, or accolades that are meant for someone else!
What are your thoughts?
As you know by now, I really LOVE Iyanla Vanzant's work as a LIFE COACH! In this clip she is counseling a woman whose husband chokes and beats her. I am very aware that domestic violence happens to a lot more people than you or I could imagine on a daily basis! Working in the social work field broadened my eyes to this truth! I always ask myself.....what makes people STAY in such UNHEALTHY relationships. I have learned through my profession that it all boils down to what you witnessed in your childhood and where your self esteem lies that plays contributing factors! I have said this before and will say it again......TRUE LOVE IS NOT ABUSIVE!!!!!!!! I actually knew someone who was in a domestic violence relationship for years. She had children by her abuser and that did not stop him from MURDERING her one day! Domestic violence is a REAL AND VERY DANGEROUS!!!
If you are in an abusive relationship and fear for your life please call the National Domestic Abuse Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
Always know that you are WORTH EVERYTHING and NEVER deserve such treatment!!!!!!!!!!!
One thing that most people do not know about me is that I lOVE ME SOME Cardi B!! Before you JUDGE me.......hear me out! I can appreciate Cardi B's honesty regarding being an exotic dancer and how CRAZY that lifestyle really is! She does not GLORIFY dancing in the strip club but is open about her experience and what young girls should be aware of if they so chose that career path. I also LOVE that she is UNAPOLOGETICALLY herself!! You know I am ALL ABOUT being who you are and embracing and loving yourself! I guess what I am trying to say is that I have RESPECT for Cardi B because she is making her dreams come true, lives in her truth, and has a MESSAGE for young people out here!! She also encourages young people to go to college to better themselves instead of turning to the streets!!
I also LOVE that she is open about undergoing breast augmentation and getting illegal injections in her butt. What I LOVE EVEN MORE is that she stated that she regrets getting the plastic surgery procedures done and was truthful about her self esteem playing a BIG PART in why she had the work done!! She further stated that prior to working in the strip club she appreciated her outer appearance but began to question how BEAUTIFUL she was once she started working in the strip club.
I believe that sometimes it does not pay to get caught up in the DELIVERY but to be able to identify what the MESSAGE is! I recognize and respect that she may not be everyone's cup of tea.......but I will continue to rock with Cardi B!!!
I have eyebrow problems and am going to try out this product from Benefit Cosmetics called Gimme Brow and give my review!! I purchased this product from Sephora for $26.00!!
If you have any other great brow solutions please let your girl know!!
Even though I am a married woman, I remember the AWKWARD MOMENTS that a first date could bring lol!!! So after doing a little research to find out some GREAT questions to ask when on a first date it inspired me to write a blog about this very topic! For those who may struggle a little with having fluid conversation while on a first date here are some great questions to ask!! After all, you want to be able to determine if there are not only SPARKS between you two...... but to also get a sense of WHO THE PERSON IS!! So lets jump right into some COOL questions to ask!!!!!!!!!!!
I find that these questions are pretty good because they can potentially spark GREAT conversation; where you walk away with understanding more about the person's childhood/upbringing, what they deem important in life, what their day to day life consists of, their goals and passions, who is in their life, and their personality. Now I am not saying that you will learn EVERYTHING about them by how they answer these 15 questions however, you will get a snapshot into who they are.......or who they are presenting themselves to be!!! I believe that it almost can take a lifetime to get to know someone because we are always evolving and growing. But, I have learned that it is important to get to know and learn who you are dating or potentially dating so that you can assess if this person could be a GOOD MATCH for you or if you should KEEP IT MOVING and not waste one another's time!!
I also think that it is important for us to know WHO WE ARE before we are able to determine who would be BEST SUITED FOR US!
What are your thoughts? Would you ask some of these questions on a first date? Do you have some other GREAT questions to ask that were not listed?
The question above derived from eharmony.com and style caster.com.
