This quote caught my attention for quite a few different reasons. I totally can relate to facing a lot of challenges and uncomfortable situations that people have thrown my way over the years! What I have learned is that at the end of the day, it's important to be able to stand alone when necessary. I get it, no one wants to stand alone in most cases! We often feel most comfortable having a community of people around us marching for the cause with us, so to speak! However, I believe that it is important to HAVE THE STRENGTH AND CONFIDENCE to stand alone as it will show you what you are really made of! This thought brings me to that old saying "if you stand for nothing you will fall for anything"! For whatever reasons I stand alone more than not. But, it has made me that much STRONGER in the long run and I am forever grateful for it!
So first things first, I am a fan of Mila J's music! She also happens to be the older sister of Jhene Aiko!! I stumbled on this clip this evening and LOOOOOVE the choreography!! I like smooth moves that have SWAGGER!! Please excuse the F bomb!
This song has such a CHILL vibe to it! I bump it in my car already lol!!
I remember when I first saw this dance a few years ago!!! I loved it then and still love it now! The girls are so GRACEFUL and are not overdoing the choreography. You know me, I LIVE for sexy choreography because I feel confident and empowered when I dance!! The girl in the White top and black shorts KILLS this!! I also have always loved this Marsha Ambrosius song entitled "Hope she cheats on you". Sometimes we gotta let these fellas know when they break our hearts !!!
My husband surprised me and took me out to this Mexican restaurant called Casa Del Sol yesterday evening. We both LOVE Mexican cuisine and enjoyed our meals! My husband and I ordered chicken burritos with plantains. This was our first time dining at this particular restaurant and we felt that the food was pretty good. I was glad that the food was not salty! The plantains were EVERYTHING!!! I only ate a quarter of my burrito and took the rest home lol! I was SUPER full!! We also ordered margaritas! Hello, My Name is Channel and I enjoy a good cocktail lol!! I had a watermelon and strawberry margarita which was SOOOO refreshing!!
I think that it is safe to say that the hubby and I will dine at this spot again!!
Do you like Mexican cuisine? If so, what is your favorite Mexican restaurant that you frequent?
Today's workout consisted of me taking a 60 minute yoga class at my gym. I have grown to love yoga over the past year because it helps me with my flexibility (I am not very flexible), helps to keep me zen, and what I love the most is that it helps me to strengthen my core. For those of you who have never taken a yoga class see the benefits listed below:
Now I do not know about you but these benefits are fantastic in my eyes!!!
Have you ever tried a yoga class? If so how was your experience? If you haven't engaged in a yoga class would you be willing to?
Have you ever experienced being put down by someone unnecessarily? Or have you ever put someone else down unnecessarily? I Find this thought to be true! It is easy for us as humans to feel better about ourselves when we put someone else down! It may be a thought that many of us are not willing to admit but have been guilty of. I have been guilty of doing this a time or two in my life. I am thankful that I was able to learn that putting someone else down is NEVER COOL and that it only reflects that YOU HAVE THE ISSUE! I have also been on the receiving end of this a few times in life. I think that it all boils down to our self esteem. I believe that when we truly love ourselves enough we instead want and prefer to empower one another rather than break one another down! It takes a certain level of maturity and love of self to lift one another up. I know that I will work even harder to do better in this area!
What are your thoughts?
Hey everyone! Check out this clip of me sharing how I live for the weekends and end up rushing my life away as a result.
Are you guilty of this too?
I woke up this morning and got myself ready to go to the gym for the third time this week. Yes, I work out at the gym three times per week. I went to Spin class for an hour of an intense workout! I normally look EXTRA rough when I workout. However, this morning I decided to add some pizzaz to my workout gear. I normally wear my spandex pants with the holes in the thigh lol. But this morning I felt like putting on these bright workout pants. I purchased them from Target back in the Winter. Every time that I would wear them I would have to pull them up constantly (which is so annoying). I guess I have lost some lbs since then because they stayed up during my hour long spin class! This made me excited because I love these workout pants! They will definitely be getting worn A LOT more! I ultimately had a great workout and now can rest for the next two days until my next workout scheduled to occur on Sunday!
As I always say if I can roll out of bed and workout three times a week you CAN as well! Whatever your fitness goals are I encourage you to work towards them. Take it one day at a time! TRUST ME, you will LOVE the way you feel inside and LIKE what you see on the outside! I am more impressed at my drive and tenacity to not give up!
What are your fitness goals?
Do you have any particular workout gear that you wear to exercise?
I love this thought because I believe that it is so true! I am naturally cautious of humans in general lol! I also have been trained from young to be cautious of people. With that being said, I think that it is important for me to make my own assessment of someone instead of taking someone else's perception of a person as bible. I give everyone the opportunity to show me who they are to avoid missing out on getting to know an AWESOME person because I went off of someone else's experience. Please don't get me wrong.......I will still be on guard at all times when getting to know someone lol. However, I will give getting to know them and them getting to know me a fair shot; and will move in whichever direction based on what my OWN assessment of them is.
What are your thoughts on this topic? Do you formulate your own opinion of others or are you easily influenced by what someone else thinks and feels?
This is my ULTIMATE FAVORITE SHOW EVER!!! I encourage all women and MEN to watch this series!! I'll be honest, it is a bit graphic and explicit with some of the scenes. However the overall theme of the show is GREAT! It is a story about four women who are friends and how they handle their relationships, careers, life challenges, and their friendships with one another! Even though this series has been over for years, you can still watch episodes online or purchase the DVD collection (Amazon.com or at Best Buy).
This series is a must see and worth the investment!!
