Welcome back to another Sex and the City Thursdays clip (done on a Friday lol)!!! In this clip, Carrie gets broken up with on a post-it note. Carrie was briefly dating a guy named Burger who she really liked but was experiencing some relationship ups and downs with him. Burger at times seemed intimidated by Carrie's success as a writer (he was also a writer whose career was not going well at the time). So when Carrie saw the post-it note where he said that he could no longer be with her, she became understandably UPSET!! She vented to her friends and was able to get the needed support from them. I love how Charlotte is an ETERNAL OPTIMIST....she kind of reminds me of myself with her ability to always see the glass as HALF FULL!! It probably also did not help that Charlotte had just gotten engaged and was on CLOUD NINE!
I could only imagine what it would feel like to be broken up with on a post-it note. But then again, when my husband was my boyfriend years ago he had broken up with me via a letter. I was DEVASTATED to say the least. However, I was the one who messed up and fully understood his decision. Thank God we were only broken up for about two weeks!! But reading the breakup message WAS NOT FUN!!!
What would you do if someone who you cared about broke up with you on a POST-IT?
So today was the final day of the three part biopic of the LEGENDARY group New Edition!!! I THOROUGHLY enjoyed parts 2 and 3 just as much as I LOVED part 1!!! Several questions that I had over the years were answered!!! It was interesting to see the individual struggles that the group members faced!! What had me MOST IMPRESSED was the fact that no matter what they went through individually or collectively as a group they ALWAYS FOUND A WAY TO STILL HAVE GENUINE LOVE FOR EACH OTHER!!! As we all saw....they had some KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT FIGHTS with one another!!! However, they still found their way back to each other...which says a lot!!! I also had NO IDEA that Bobby Brown was not the ONLY group member who struggled with substance abuse. Ricky Bell QUIETLY struggled with addiction issues. I also did not realize that Mike Bivans and Ralph Tresvant had issues with one another for years!!! This biopic was VERY WELL DONE and really seemed to CAPTURE THEIR STORY!!! I loved every minute of it and was reminded of how ICONIC this group is!!!
Group dynamics are REAL!!! I could only imagine how difficult it was to come together as six different personalities and achieve fame at SUCH A YOUNG AGE!!! It is almost a recipe for DISASTER!!! I was a part of a singing group for some years and we had our level of difficulties at times....mind you, we never made it BIG LOL!!!
The casting for this biopic was SPOT ON and I have to give props to all of the actors and actresses that played a role in this movie!!! JOB WELL DONE!!! Bryshere did a very good job of making me FORGET that he plays Hakeem Lyon from Empire!!!! La La Anthony also did a GREAT JOB!!! I love how all of the actors who depicted New Edition played their roles!!! This was THE BEST BIOPIC that I have ever seen done!! Second to this would be TLC's biopic!!!
What were your thoughts on the biopic as a whole?
Tonight was the DEBUT of New Edition's biopic and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I LOVED the fact that they used a majority of the first two hours of the biopic to capture them as kids!!! In most of the biopics that I have seen I always felt that they rushed the childhood portion of the story. I was so HAPPY to see that they took their time in telling the beginning of the New Edition story! I was able to have several unanswered questions that I had over the years addressed!!! I did not know that Bobby Brown was the one who INITIALLY had the idea for them to sing together as a group for a talent show performance. I also learned that it was their first manager that came up with their group name!! The most interesting fact was that Ralph Tresvant was offered a solo record deal that he turned down and instead asked that the group get signed!!!
I must say that the first part of this biopic is on to A GREAT START and has me WANTING MORE!!!
Did you watch part one of this biopic? If so what are your thoughts?
Hey everyone!! Check out this clip where I share my EXCITEMENT to tune into the New Edition Biopic 3 Part Series that debuts on January 24th!!!! I will for sure share my thoughts on this biopic by the end of the week!!!
Are you as excited as I am to tune in?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this clip because I feel that Iyanla is DROPPING SOME JEWELS OF WISDOM!!! A lot of times I find that we as humans are at times afraid to "DO THE WORK" by looking deep inside and going to the places where there is hurt and where our insecurities lie. A lot of times it may be out of our OWN FEAR to face ourselves and our issues in the mirror HEAD ON!!! I also believe that the only way that we can really overcome our insecurities is to deal with them. I definitely recognize that it is a VERY HARD thing to be honest with ourselves at times and to really own the areas in our lives that we are A HOT MESS in!!! However, at some point, if we truly want to CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.....it would behoove us to "DO THE WORK"!!! I think that it is just as important to have a STRONG WORK ETHIC when it comes to our emotional, spiritual, and mental health....the same way we would GO HARD at our jobs, in our marriages, and with our children!!!!
Growing up, I remember having insecurities when it came to my singing capabilities and my looks at different points in my life. Overtime, I thankfully started to really BELIEVE in my musical talents and started to RECOGNIZE and APPRECIATE my natural beauty. It took me a little while to mature and grow into my features....but when I did I BELIEVED that I was beautiful on the inside and the outside.
I also agree with her point about how sometimes we allow people to put LIMITATIONS on us which could hinder us within our lives!!! I am often FUELED by those who want to put limitations on me in both my professional and personal life!!! Only the man above has the POWER to limit me!!! I think that it is very important for us to be able to explore the world and come to OUR OWN CONCLUSIONS about things as opposed to just taking someone else's word for it....but that's just me lol!!!!
I encourage us all to be willing to "DO THE NECESSARY WORK" in our lives in order to become healthier and more whole!!!!
What are your thoughts on this clip?
Happy Sex and the City Thursday!!! Tonight's clip is when Miranda told Steve that she LOVED HIM!! For those who do not know the history, Miranda and Steve dated off and on for years and ended up having a baby boy together; but decided not to be in a relationship with one another . They were co-parenting and were also in relationships with other people. Miranda fought her feelings for Steve for several years which is why this moment was EVERYTHING!!! I am a firm believer that we cannot help who we love and that TRUE LOVE does not come around too often!!! So when it presents itself to you......take it for what it is and EMBRACE and RECIPROCATE the love!!! Love does not often come KNOCKING TWICE, so we have to be able to recognize the real thing when it is IN OUR FACE!!!!! We also should not take TRUE LOVE for granted!!!
So if there is someone in your life who you TRULY LOVE and feel deep down inside that they are "THE ONE" please do not wait long to express your feelings!!! I think that it was so BOMB that Miranda BALLSED UP and said those three words first!!! Lets not be afraid to express how and what we really feel folks!!!!
Do you agree? What are your thoughts?
